About Us

The day was April 28th, 1973, at what was then Elon College. A group of young men bound together to found a new fraternity on campus dedicated to three core values: virtue, diligence, and brotherly love. So began the North Carolina Mu chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon, the 227th chapter of this distinguished national fraternity.

The NC Mu chapter dedicates itself to:

  • Upholding the principles originally established by Sigma Phi Epsilon's founding members in 1901
  • Living and achieving the Sound Mind, Sound Body goals of the pioneering Balanced Man program

Today, our brothers are guided by the presidency of Nicholas Smith, and the insight of our chapter advisor, Phil Smith. The direction and support of Regional Director Jamison Shields also play a vital part in our continuing success.

As a Balanced Man chapter, we always strive to outdo ourselves. We are on the path to great things in the 2017-2018 academic year.

Our chapter house is currently located at Loy Center N House # 3224,  behind the Moseley Center. Alumni are always welcome!
